Gift Management ensures that UC Berkeley's institutional and fiduciary responsibilities for private donations comply with donor intent, University policies, and applicable state and federal laws.
Through its two departments, Fund Administration and Gift Administration, it serves as the chief policy advisor to the campus fundraising community.
Fund Administration
Fund Administration arranges for contributions to reach their intended beneficiaries, and ensures the ongoing and long-term use of charitable gifts and endowed income in accordance with designated terms and purposes. It is also the office of record for all gift funds, in particular the 3,000+ endowed funds that support UC Berkeley.

Gift Administration
Gift Administration serves as the office of gift acceptance and administration for UC Berkeley. Annually, Gift Administration records more than $300 million and processes almost 100,000 transactions related to gifts and grants from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other donors. It also offers training, help desk, and lockbox services.
The work performed by Gift Administration includes:
