Annual Programs is Cal’s central annual giving office, charged with the mission of raising annual, unrestricted gifts for the Chancellor. These gifts enrich the Cal educational experience by providing financial support to areas such as: scholarships and financial aid, library acquisitions, the Berkeley Pledge, faculty support, and campus safety.

Four fundraising arms make up this comprehensive annual giving effort, which contacts more than 200,000 alumni, 17,000 parents, and all graduating seniors each year:

• The Cal Annual Fund
• The Parents Fund for Cal
• Reunion Giving/Class Campaigns
• California Student Foundation and Senior Class Gift Campaigns

Annual Programs also provides the following services to campus fundraising units:

• Campuswide calendar of all annual fund and alumni association membership mailings.
• Library of campus unit annual fund appeals.
• Coordination of Annual Fund Council meetings.
• Interpretation of campus solicitation policy for all annual fund programs.
• Telemarketing services and consultation, for fee.
• Consultation:
  • Goal setting for annual funds
  • Budgeting for annual funds
  • Personal solicitation materials
  • Resource for outside vendors (mail houses, etc.)
