Donor Stewardship
Donor stewardship nurtures and builds lasting relationships between the University and those who support the institution with private gifts.
An active advocate for donor interests, donor stewardship fosters and encourages private support by:
- Acknowledging contributions in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner;
- Recognizing donors in meaningful ways; and,
- Reporting to donors in a timely, consistent and accurate manner on the use, impact and financial management of their gifts.
Services include:
- Gift acknowledgment letters from the UC President, the Berkeley Chancellor, and the Vice Chancellor — University Relations
- Chancellor's and Vice Chancellor's birthday card program
- Memorial and honorific gift notifications
- Reporting to donors on financial status and use of funds, particularly endowed scholarships, fellowships and chairs
- Development of individualized donor stewardship strategies
- Annual and cumulative giving donor recognition programs, including the Builders of Berkeley and The Charter Hill Society
- Donor recognition certificates
