Top-notch faculty. A world-class library. Vibrant student life. We’ve had it all at Cal — and now, as we prepare for graduation and the start of our careers, we can help make sure that current and future Cal students will have the same first-rate experience we’ve enjoyed during our years at Berkeley.
Participation counts!
Our No. 1 goal is participation. We want each and every senior to participate at any level because together we can make a huge difference at Cal. If every senior gives just $20.09 in ’09, that adds up to over $260,000! Your participation gets you on the honor roll and into the Senior Gift Thank You Event at the Chancellor’s house!
Have a question about giving online? Find your answer here.
Can my parents (or other person) make a gift on my behalf?
Yes, your parents can make a gift in your honor by completing the online form. They should make sure to request that you get credit in the “Special Instructions” section of the online form to ensure that your name gets listed on the Honor Roll and that you receive an invitation to the Chancellor’s "Thank You!" event.
Can I make a gift on behalf of a professor (or someone else)?
Yes! If you would like to recognize someone special through your gift, please note this in the "Special Instructions" section, and we will make sure that their name appears on our Honor Roll.
I know the gift will be matched by a Cal alum. Do I have to fill anything in the “Matching Funds” section?
No. Every gift will automatically be matched at the end of the campaign. You should UNCHECK the check box for the Matching Funds section, unless you are currently employed by a company that will match your contribution.
What do I mark for my Cal affiliation?
You should mark the box “Cal Student” for this section. Alumnus is automatically checked, but you should UNCHECK this box and mark that you are a Cal student… just a few more weeks ‘til you reach alumni status!
What if I want to pay with a check?
To pay with a check, simply mark the box titled “check,” print out the form, and send it to:

Can I make a pledge and pay later through the online giving form?
Not directly. Your gift will be charged to your credit card immediately if you submit the form online. If you would like to make a pledge and postpone your payment for up to three months, you may fill out the form with your credit card information and mail it in to the above address. Be sure to note in the “Special Instructions” your preferences for fulfilling your gift (i.e., “Please schedule payment to start in June 2008”). Or, you may simply call (510) 642-7385 to make a pledge over the phone or e-mail us for more information.
Can I split my gift into payments on the online giving form?
Not directly. The total gift will be charged to your credit card immediately if you submit the form online. If you would like to set up automatic payment through your credit card (for example, you would like to make a $60 pledge and have your credit card automatically charged $20 over the next three months), fill out the form with your credit card information and mail it in to the above address. Be sure to note in the “Special Instructions” the details of your desired payment schedule (i.e., “Please charge my credit card monthly payments of $20 to begin May 2006”). Or, you may simply call (510) 642-7385 to make a pledge over the phone or e-mail us for more information.
I received a pledge reminder in the mail. Can I pay it online?
Yes. You can fulfill a pledge that you have previously made by filling out the online form. Be sure to note that you are “fulfilling a pledge” in the Special Instructions section of the online form, so we can match it up and stop sending you pledge reminders in the mail.
